Re Blyth's paper on the logic of verbs. "I enjoyed your examples of faulty sentences such as 'She departed in tears in a taxi'. Verbs present problems which have interested me for a very long time, beginning with a chapter in the Principles of Mathematics called 'Proper Names, Adjectives and Verbs' which now seems to me very naive. I think my chief difference from your outlook is that I do not consider a process as a unity but, like the notes of a tune, a series of separate occurrences."

BR sent her letter to the Bertrand Russell Peace Foundation. "I am entirely in favour of doing all we can in the case that you write about. I have already tried to bring to public notice various cases of ex-Nazis in positions of authority and I feel very strongly about the quite insufficient repudiation of Nazidom in Western Germany."

Kirwan hopes BR agrees to a meeting with György Makai, a journalist for Ország Világ.

6888

Feinberg is "puzzled" by Schoenman's letter of March 13th (see record 6886). "The only material which could possibly fit your description is ... under very strict embargo."

6889

BR can meet with György Makai, a journalist for Ország Világ.

6890

Evans, noting that BR's review of King-Hall's Western Civilization and the Far East has nothing on racial prejudice as discussed in chapter XVI, asks BR for a few lines or an interview. He would cable the results to Japan. (BR indicated "Ans yes" in the upper-left corner. Whether at Evans' instigation or not, BR's B&R C24.53 (in Foreign Affairs) does discuss race.)

(The Japanese edition of Tokyo Nichi-Nichi printed extracts from B&R C24.53 on 6 Dec. 1924.)

"What is the duration of the embargo?"

A handwritten reply at the bottom says: "The embargo is to be in force while the women written about are still alive especially Dora and Peter both of whom, as you know, are still ... youthful."
