He refers to Jews still being kept in concentration camps in Europe and being refused permission to leave for Palestine, "who resort to the use of arms as terrorists." He asks her to raise her voice against Britain's "oppressive and murderous policy" in Palestine.

Edith informs Lloyd-Williams that she and BR will be in court the following Tuesday "... on the charge of trying to make known the facts about nuclear war to the general public (it is, as you will know, not worded like that, but that is what it comes to). The maximum penalty is six months gaol. Our legal advisers tell us that we are very likely to get the full penalty, especially my husband since he is the President of the Committee of 100, and if not the full penalty a fairly long sentence."
