An appreciation of BR, enclosed with document .110770d, record 83128, from Fanny Hand. She frequently refers to a "B" in her life. Since Learned Hand's first name was Billings, It seems likely that he is the author of the brief character sketch of BR. His handwriting is consistent with it.

Enclose is a short appreciation (record 83126) of BR by "B". That person seems to be Billings Learned Hand, Fanny's husband.

The letter has reflections on a Vermont neighbour, Jerry Salinger, i.e. J.D. Salinger.

On a BRPF "with compliments" slip, Schoenman states that the attached [not present] is circulated seriously in the United States. An archival note reads: "I recall that this note was originally attached to a red bumper sticker reading 'FUCK COMMUNISM'. I do not know what has happened to the sticker since I saw it when the Archives were in London. K. Blackwell 28.9.79". This bumper sticker may have been the one put out by Paul Krassner of The Realist in 1963, in addition to a similar poster.
