My Darling Love
I am so very sorry you are ill. I would have come round, but I too have a bad cold and I don’t want to be out late — I would rather be better tomorrow.
Unless you are much better tomorrow, let me come to the Attic4 instead of the Studio5 — perhaps we could have a scratch meal there, or, if that doesn’t suit you, I will get my dinner first and then come — You had much better not go out, I am sure — I won’t stay longer than you want me, if you are still ill.
I have made up the Table of Contents for my book,6 which is the chief part of the work. Now I see my way through it. I think I shall easily get it finished in the time.
My dear dear Love, I hope you are not feeling unhappy and depressed — My thoughts are with you every moment. I long to come tonight but I am sure it is better not — it would put off the time of both being fit again.
Goodnight my dear one.
