Dear Miss Saint,
Miss Kallin asked me to write to you about the title of the talk that I am to give for her. I incline to think that “Science and Democracy” might do as a title,1 but I should be glad to hear whether that seems satisfactory, or, if not, can you offer a suggestion?
I do not remember exactly how many words you want, but I seem to think that it was about 1,800. Would you be so kind as to let me know whether my recollection is correct on this point?
Yours truly,
<signed> Russell.
