Messrs. Allen & Unwin
Dear Sirs,
I note your correspondence with Mr. Russell which you sent me a week or so ago, and quite agree with what you say.
With regard to the enquiry as to the Swedish translation rights2 of Political Ideals Mr. Russell says “I am pretty sure the Swedish rights belong to Unwin, certainly not ‘Century’.”
He also says “Allen & Unwin now owe me £50,3 which they can pay straight into my Bank”.
Yours faithfully,
Russell

Swedish translation rights See BR’s Letter 96 to Unwin the previous day. BR did not preserve his Century contract for Political Ideals. In fact, no Swedish translation was published prior to 1963.

now owe me £50 The draft contract stipulated that £50 on account of royalties should be paid within seven days of the delivery of the complete manuscript of Introduction to Mathematical Philosophy. The typescript had been delivered and even sent to the printer by 3 September 1918 (Wrinch to BR, BRACERS 81969). BR recorded the receipt of Allen & Unwin’s £50 in his pocket diary for September 1918.
