BR TO ALYS RUSSELL, [27 JULY 1907]
BRACERS 21063. ALS. McMaster
Proofread by K. Blackwell

Prince of Wales Hotel

Westmoreland
July 27. 1907

Dearest Alys

We reached this place without misadventure about 6 this evening. North has not been well lately, and it was doubtful whether he would be able to come, but finally he was allowed to by the Dr. It appears that there is danger to his lungs, and that on that account he will very likely have to spend next winter in Switzerland, and in any case will have to leave school. It is rather a trial, but apparently caution is likely to prove sufficient. We shall not take very long walks, at any rate at first, but we shall try to be out as much as possible. He is in excellent spirits.

Thine aff.
Bertie.
