Dearest Alys
My paper went off all right, though it was a less dramatic and exciting occasion than before. Schiller was present, but hadn’t much to say. I met a young American, a Harvard Fellow and disciple of James, who has letters to us from Santayana and Perry. It has only just struck me he wanted to be called on first.a I asked him to come out some time, but I don’t know his name.1 Gilbert was present — I got no talk with him at dinner, as he was monopolized by Farnell. All well with me.
