Dearest Alys
I have attended to all the matters in thy letter, which has made me feel quite a man of action. I agree that Mathews’ proposal is a good one.
Arthur got off in the dog-cart in time for the 10 o’clock. He was no longer seedy this morning.
I am reading Helen’s novel, but so far it is not interesting. My work goes well, and I hope to finish the section I am at before I go.
Thine aff
Bertie.
I am glad Miss Harrison is improving. I hope thee is also getting a good rest.
