BR TO DORA RUSSELL, [27 MAR. 1925]
BRACERS 19974. ALS. McMaster
Proofread by K. Blackwell

Friday

My Darling Love1

I have this morning finished Chap. I of ABC and sent it to Steelybrassface. I hope he will be satisfied.

Would you mind sending me two handkerchiefs tomorrow by letter post? Owing to my cold I am short. You will bring the rest, won’t you?

Also would you please bring 2 dozen long envelopes, about 2 inches longer than this sheet? I need them for proofs of Principia Mathematica; I don’t think Penzance contains such things.

Much interested in what Davis says. I find it hard to believe an extra room would not add to the value; it would be well to take Wheeler’s opinion, also as to what he could get by selling the house. If we get less than £2000 we lose, owing to commission — unless we sell by advertisement.

If we sold for £1800, our expense would be:
Commission, £180
Move and re-decorating, (say) £300 — total £480.
That is assuming we sell for what we gave. That seems to show that building on would be more economical.

Brown linen hat and suit for John arrived — he wanted to wear them at once and was delighted with them. His memory amazes me. Yesterday, near the red staircase, he pointed to a place and said “that’s where John and Daddy went when it rained” — and it was, but we only went there once.

I am in favour of bringing Sands if she is willing to come.

Kate has begun to enjoy pictures. She and John play peep-bo in the nursery with shouts of laughter from both. She misses John in the night nursery, nurse says, when she wakes in the morning. John sleeps all night like a lamb, and has never yet cried out. — We have had continuous sunshine since we came, but a bitter cold wind. All love Sweet Treasure. Which day are you coming? I long for you.
