My Darling Love1 —
What good news about letting the house. I do hope the references will be all right.
If you have time, do ask Wheeler what he thinks the house would fetch with and without another storey.
Sweep came this morning — Terrible to-do — But Mrs. Walters helped. Yesterday I took John to St Levan — he demanded the organ, though he had only heard it once. Kate has another double tooth through and is consequently very jolly. She loves the picture of you, and takes no interest in herself in the same picture. I read The Ladies of Lyndon by M. Kennedy. Not quite as good as The Constant Nymph, but well worth reading. ABC going all right — shall reach Z by prescribed date. — Lovely weather, all well. O Darling I do miss you so. — Life is short and I grudge every day of possible happiness lost.
