My dearest Colette
Your lovely letter2 was a great joy to get. It will be heavenly having you in Cornwall.3 The children4 and I go there on the 9th, and it will take a few days to get things straight — but if you will come on the 12th or any later day that will be all right. — I still love you, but without the element of mutual monopoly that used to be in my feeling, and without the wish to mix anything so profound and disturbing with daily life. Perhaps after you have been in Cornwall a bit we could go away somewhere for a day or two, so as not to be surrounded by other people all the time. Goodbye till I see you, my Dearest.
B.
