My dear Colette

I am delighted that you will come Sunday. I wish we could put you up in the house,2 but we are full; however, do stay as my guest at the Ship,3 which Miles4 likes. I can come and dine there; in any case we shall be quieter than here, where a whole community is always on one’s back.

If you will let me know when you get to Petersfield, I will meet you with a car. I do look forward to seeing you.
