Weybridge The town in Surrey where Colette was staying, at the Ship Inn. A series of letters written in despair by Colette followed this meeting. None mentioned that “her stage ambition went out like a snuffed candle” during this time. She told BR this nearly a decade later, in a letter dated 12 December 1929 (BRACERS 98402).
