Beloved
It was a joyful surprise to hear your voice last night — but as Bob4 and Desmond MacCarthy5 were listening I couldn’t say much. O my Angel, my dear one, I am glad you are less depressed — I will keep next Thursday evening — and I will count on Bury St. Edmund’s for a night — tho’ I would rather also come somewhere else for 1 night — I shall have matters of business and would rather make 2 journeys for 1 night each — I am sorry your time in town is so short6 —
Blessings on you Beloved — My heart is yours.
