My Beloved
This place4 is sadly lifeless without you — When I woke this morning I stretched out my hands instinctively to where you should have been, and it was a shock to find your place empty — Dearest Love I do hope you are as happy as you can be without work — I feel your spirit in my heart’s core and am full of deep joy — C.A.5 comes Sat. night — Nothing has happened — I think of you every moment and miss you most terribly — You were wonderful, most wonderful, my Heart’s Comrade.6 I kiss your dear eyes and send you a hundred thousand tender thoughts.
