My Darling Love
It is hateful not seeing you for such a long time4 — I had a meeting this afternoon, and then dictated to Miss Kyle5 till 6 (all the morning too). Work is a nuisance — Don’t fail about the tickets,6 will you, Sweet Love? I do look forward to it —
I feel I was horrid last night — I seemed to depress you — I didn’t feel horrid — old phrases came out with no present feeling behind them. I do hope you weren’t really ill — I was dreadfully worried —
My love, I love you love you love you — my whole Soul is yours. I can’t beara that you should feel as you say, like a tailor-made with a diamond.7 Don’t you know that your love is the most wonderful and amazing thing that has ever come to me, and that it utterly transforms my life? Dearest, do feel that we are equals — comrades — that is what love should mean. The other must be uncomfortable, not warm and intimate — but I feel warm and intimate with you. All my love, my dear one — I longb to hold you in my arms. Oh we must notc fail to have Ashford8 —
