My Beloved
This is only one line to say that I do love you, my dear one. I love you far more than you know or imagine — but it is not a happy love now, though I think it may grow happy again.
I wrote you a long letter this morning,2 which I want you to read carefully, as it delivers my mind of things I wasn’t saying. But from it alone you wouldn’t know I still love you. Be kind to me, my Heart.
