"Sunday evg. My Beloved—You were wonderful, my dear one, and I came away feeling very full of love."
BR TO CONSTANCE MALLESON, [2 DEC. 1917]
BRACERS 19252. ALS. McMaster
Edited by S. Turcon. Reviewed by K. Blackwell
My Beloved —
You were wonderful, my dear one, and I came away4 feeling very full of love. It is a divine joy that we are able to be together again, and to begin building up again. Don’t give another thought to the things I said in the night.
Life and the world are difficult.
Dear one, do try to take a little care of yourself — don’t stint yourself in sleep, or you will get really ill —
I long more than I can say to see your eyes shine once more as they used to — I long to see you happy and gay though I know you set no store by that. My dear, there are no words to tell you what I feel towards you — it goes beyond what one means even by love.
