My Beloved
Your little letter yesterday4 morning was a joy to get, but I hate to think of your living in a “cold common hell” and my doing so little to help you in it — I must win back your confidence — I will, with time. I do want your life to be full and to bring the things that you really care for — I am not against anything that brings you self-expression, however I may behave at moments — I long to share your unhappiness.
I loved Sunday and all our talk5 and the strange quiet of the day.
Darling I long for you to be back6 and for the moment when we can be really together7 — I keep on thinking of it — My love goes out freely now to you, and I want you to feel it. Do tell me all you can about yourself. Goodnight my heart’s Love —
