My Beloved
It was an unspeakable joy to get your letter this evening and know that you are here again. I heard the click of the letter box and rushed to the window to see if you had brought the letter yourself but it was Miles’s2 retreating back I saw — I am very glad your 5 days were happy3 — but oh I am glad you are back my dear heart — I do love you, love you, love you. I long to be with you — Yes, let us dine together somewhere tomorrow — unless you suggest something different, I will call for you at 7.15 — I shall be here to lunch so if you prefer some other plan, will you leave a note during the morning or at luncheon time. My dearest Darling it was a lovely letter this evening and I bless you for it.
Goodnight my lovely joy.
B
