My Beloved

I hated to leave you last night but I had such a lot of work ahead of me that I thought I ought. I keep on thinking about you and wishing you were not so unhappy — it is dreadful, my Darling. I wonder how B’ham4 is turning out. Do let me know as much as you can.

A very interesting bit of work5 (which I will tell you about when we meet) has suddenly descended upon me and will keep me furiously busy till Friday, doing things I enjoy.

Dearest loved one, remember that I love you deeply and long for you to be happy — Goodnight my lovely Darling.
