My Darling Darling
Today was perfectly delightful, only so tantalizingly brief — I felt like a gourmet who has been given the most wonderful soup and then told that is his whole dinner for tonight. — Walks together are extraordinarily delightful, we always get such good talks. I have no right to opinions about Philip’s career because I really don’t know him well enough. But all the same I do hold the opinion I was expressing, very strongly, and entirely from the point of view of his welfare; tho’ I feel impertinent in thinking about what he should do — it is none of my business.
I walked to Chelsea and paid several calls — the only person I found was Dora Sanger, who was very pleasant, as she always is to me. It was quite obvious, I thought, that Alys had told her nothing, not a syllable or a hint.
I hardly know if this will reach you tonight but I hope so. O Darling, I do love you most utterly, more if possible since you came back even than before. I do long to be always with you — it is a foolish longing but sometimes it will come up. I am very very happy. Darling — your love is more and more the whole of life to me. I am only afraid you will get tired of getting so much love. Goodbye my Dearest, my Ottoline.

B
