You are right, my heart, we must end everything but what we can treasure in our own thoughts. I shall be glad to see you once more, tomorrow morning, here, as soon after breakfast as you can. There is no bitterness and no hatred in my heart, and no rebellion — it must be so. All that has been is good, and remains — your love remains to purify me. I am glad of what has been — deep in the depths I am happier than before it happened, in spite of the pain. Do not fear that I shall doubt the strength of your love — there are things one must put before love, if one is to be worthy of love. You will live in my heart with the things that make religion, and redeem the world in spite of the terror and the pain. O my love, I bless you for what you are, and for your love and for your strength. You shed a light upon this world for me, and that nothing can take away. Goodbye goodbye goodbye —
