Dear Berlin
Thank you very much for your letter. I have now had the official invitation, and accepted it. I have heard definitively that Chicago is off, so that, if it suits the University equally well, I should prefer to lecture in the Hilary term; it will certainly give time for me to make a better course. But I can lecture in the autumn if there is any important reason for so doing.
One point: the official letter suggests that I should lecture on “Thought and Language”. I had proposed to lecture on “Language and Fact” as “thought” does not interest me. The matter is not important, but I should prefer “Language and Fact” as the title if possible without bother.
There are various questions I should like to discuss with you, some practical, some theoretical. Is there any chance of your coming here for a visit? It would be very nice if you could.
I am filled with gratitude to you and my other Oxford friends. The idea of the filigree bicycle is grand!
Yours very sincerely
Bertrand Russell.
