BR TO BBC / PETER BAX, 29 MAY 1945
BRACERS 57482. ALS(X). BBC Written Archives

Dear Mr. Bax

The British Constitution forbids Peers to stand for the House of Commons, or to renounce their peerage. I call myself “Bertrand Russell” for publicity purposes because that is the means by which I am known, but this has no affect upon my legal status.

Yours very sincerely
Russell
