I agree with what you say in your letter. It is unfortunately clear that you and Peter are not likely to like each other ever again. But I want if possible a modus vivendi, since otherwise it becomes much more difficult for me to see you. I, as you know, have no desire to find fault with you and I want to go on seeing you easily. Peter has invited you and John for the weekend before his birthday — I shall be at the house too — I hope you can come. Much love dear Kate.
