Sir Stanley Unwin,
Messrs. George Allen & Unwin,
Publishers,
40, Museum Street,
London, W.C.2.

Dear Unwin,

Thank you for your letter and half-yearly Statement, which are most satisfactory.

I should like to know a little more about Freedom and Organization and the Services. Do I understand that our gallant Forces were ordered to read the book1 in order to make them hate the Germans? If so I think it could have been done more cheaply.

Yours sincerely,
<signed> Bertrand Russell.
