Dear Unwin
Thank you for your kind letter, I have written to Norton’s in the sense required.
As you know, I am giving here three lectures on Power, consisting largely of extracts from my book. They want to publish them in French, but I gather you prefer to wait till you can get the whole book published in French. For my part, I should say there is something to be said for letting them publish the 3 lectures, if they pay you what you think appropriate. Their translator, F. Frutiger, 1 Rue Pierre Fatio, Geneva, has done his work much better than most translators do. It is their custom to publish the lectures, which as such would have a certain sale. But there is enough of the book Power in them to make it impossible for any other publisher to publish a complete translation. So I don’t know what you will think best.
Yours sincerely
Bertand Russell.
