Thank you for your letter. There can be no doubt that the chairman of the Brit. Inst. of Philal. Studies (whoever he is) would write supporting your application; so would any professor of philosophy. So would e.g. Gilbert Murray. I hardly know Cripps, but I am favourably known to him for having spoken frequently in his support at the time of the Cripps offer, when American opinion was very hostile.

I don’t know Moberly or anything about him.

If you approach professors, you might do well to send them the Introduction to the book.

The Master of Trinity would no doubt support you; the matter is one for historians as well as for philosophers.

I suggest a direct approach to Cripps, and letters to Gilbert Murray and George Trevelyan. Perhaps also to Price at Oxford.
