BR TO ALLEN AND UNWIN / STANLEY UNWIN, 21 MAR. 1945
BRACERS 48028. ALS(X). George Allen and Unwin Ltd.

Dear Unwin

Thank you for your letter. My contract with Simon and Schuster, in addition to the Canadian rights, assigns Spanish and Portuguese translation rights. It does not give rights in Latin America or anywhere outside U.S. except Canada. I am very sorry, I had forgotten that I had already signed a contract with you before signing theirs.

The fault being mine, I am willing to do whatever you desire. Do you wish me to write to Simon and Schuster, and will you do it yourself? I am grateful to you for your suggested compromise, and I hope they will accept it.

Please let me know what you wish me to do.

Yours sincerely
Bertrand Russell.

P.S. I enclose the contract, which please return when you have finished with it.
