Dear Unwin
I am sending under separate cover the American corrected proofs of the whole of my book except Preface and Table of Contents. As for title: Either
A History of Western Philosophical Thought
or
Western Philosophical Thought: A History
in the latter, the words “a history” need only appear on the title page, not on the outside.
I have no views as between “judgment” and “judgement”; please use your own judgment or judgement about it.
The American publishers insisted on “Saint” when I wanted to put “St”. I think “Saint” a waste of ink and paper; but I leave the matter to you.
As to quotations and copyright, would you mind letting me know if you think there are any permissions that need getting? I have never bothered, as most authors like to be quoted.
Yours sincerely
Bertrand Russell.
