Dear Warder
I am very greatly distressed by the news of Polly’s illness, and you have my most sincere sympathy. I do hope all will go well; I have not enough medical knowledge to know how grave the trouble is from what you tell me. Please convey to her my very best wishes for her recovery.
I am returning herewith one copy of the contract amended in accordance with your letter. I note what you say about Clause XI.
With regard to paying royalties at the end of January, it seems unnecessary to insert anything in the contract, since our letters sufficiently cover the point.
Yours sincerely
Bertrand Russell.
P.S. I do not think I can profitably comment on the Yale Press material that you sent me. In any case, events move so fast that it is now out of date.
Love and sympathy to Polly from Peter2
