Dear Warder
When people wish me to know things, they should tell me themselves. If people again ask you to convey mysterious hints, please tell them to communicate with me direct. I have not commented on Harvard’s action, and shall not.
You cannot imagine how maddening it is to be enveloped in a fog of hush-hush hints instead of being told plain facts. If people are too cowardly to tell me plain facts, I would rather be told nothing. (I know that you were not at liberty to be more explicit.)
Yours sincerely
Bertrand Russell.
