Dear Warder

Would you mind doing me a favour? I wrote an article called “The Revolt against Reason”, which I sent to the Atlantic Monthly on the off chance of their publishing it. I ventured to tell the editor that if he didn’t want it he was to send it to you. The people who are publishing it in England have agreed, reluctantly, to postpone publication so as to fit in with American arrangements. Could you send me a cable (as they want to know soon) as to whether it is likely to be published at all in America, and if so when? A night-letter (of course charged to me) would do. My telegraphic address is

Russell, Harting 6.

The telegraph lady will tell you you mean Hastings, and you will have to be firm with her. I found one in America who refused to accept the telegram on the ground that I obviously did not know where I lived.

It is a great relief to me that my divorce is through, though with a certain amount of misrepresentation of facts.

Best wishes to you both.

Yrs ever
B.R.
