BR TO W.W. NORTON & COMPANY, INC. / WARDER NORTON, 20 FEB. 1934
BRACERS 47083. ALS. Norton papers, Columbia U.
Proofread by K. Blackwell and A. Duncan

Dear Warder

Thank you for your letter. But the last paragraph still leaves me mystified. You seem to admit that I have done something to vex America, and to assume that I must know what it is. I don’t know in the least, and I can’t help feeling there must be something I don’t know about but ought to.

I can get some MS sent to you very soon, including all the American part, which is very long. I certainly haven’t tried, in it, to pull your legs — on the contrary, I find myself growing more and more pro-American. I even seriously contemplate settling in the USA.

I will write about titles by the next mail.

Yours ever
B.R.
