"My Beloved—I have only a moment but I want you to go away knowing that my thoughts and my heart and my whole devotion are with you—"

I have only a moment — but I want you to go away knowing that my thoughts and my heart and my whole devotion are with you. Yesterday was decisive — I am yours so long as you want me — I shall not fade away — I am not going to walk away and forget you. I love you, my dear one — not merely in the passionate way, but far more vitally and fully; I felt before that you were very complete and I had nothing to give you that you really needed — now I don’t feel that — you will grow and grow, infinitely — always new growth to come — And I believe now that for a time at least I can give you something you need. You may trust me.
My Beloved, yesterday was wonderful to me. I love you in a new and deeper way, a way that you may rest in safely. I am yours, my Colette.
B.
