My darling Colette
All day I wanted to write but I have been kept rushing about. I am creeping back into life. Please please don’t think anything has been the matter except exhaustion. Tomorrow I shall be less tired and I shall be a human being again. There are oceans of things I want to talk about — I will come at 1:30. — I hate that you should feel as if anything were the matter except that I wanted rest — when I am not ill I love to fill my days quite full, but when one is overdone one loses the power of enjoyment. But now that I have had my teeth done3 I shall be gay again! I feel it is shameful.
Goodnight my Darling, my Beloved. I love you, my lovely one.
