Thursday evg
My Darling Darling
Your dear letter came at tea-time — it is such a joy. I feel everything very right between us now, and it makes me long to be with you. If you don’t mind too much, it is better to be unreserved. Only it means going on putting burdens upon you. Pretending to be happier than one is seems to make one more intensely conscious of unhappiness.
You don’t say anything about Monday. If it is impossible for you, I will stay at Camb. till evening — but if you can be free any time, I can be in London by 10. If it suited you better, I could manage our long day then instead of Tuesday. I shall get 1st post here Sat. but not the 2nd.
I don’t believe we shall part, because the tie is too strong. But I don’t feel at all sure that it is right not to part. But I don’t think it can be settled till after I have gone to America.
Dear Heart I long to be with you as much as possible the last days before I go abroad — But anyhow the day Tuesday will be heaven. Don’t think I shall be hurt if you can’t manage more than that.
Goodbye Darling — all my deepest love is with you always.
Your
