Schoenman informs Jackson that the BRPF will take up the matter of Hossain with Ayub Khan immediately. He mentions that they were successful in obtaining the release of Hellen Battle.

Shariff sends Farley information about Asadulla, a first year engineering student in Dacca University. He was shot in the knee by officers who were ordered to shoot to kill. Shariff informs BR that money was raised in Pakistan for his treatment but it is not sufficient. He asks Farley to find some means to help them raise more money.

Farley advises Shariff to ask people in Britain to sponsor an appeal for funds to raise money for Asadulla or to appeal to the Pakistan government to increase the amount of foreign currency Asadulla is allowed to bring to Britain.
