Attached is a typed carbon copy of the draft. The draft is written on pages with mathematical notations and a draft letter to someone else.
55349

Not a letter but a statement by Einstein about BR's History of Western Philosophy. A typed copy is attached.

55350

A partial translation is attached. The letter was posted on the 19th.

Einstein attached to his letter extended remarks on points he lettered A to F on a tear-sheet of BR's article, "Still Time for Good Sense" (B&R C47.12). Einstein's copy of the article is filed with B&R C47.12; it lacks pp. 59-60 and 63 (p. 64 begins a new article). One of the missing pages must have contained Einstein's "F" point. The missing pages are possibly elsewhere in the Russell Archives.

Einstein's letter is, according to Otto Nathan's list of the Russell-Einstein letters, a "transcript of A.L.S. (draft) with partial translation", the translation being confined to the lettered points that Einstein made.

55351

This letter is included in a document titled "From Lady Allen of Hurtwood's Autobiography". The document also quotes BR in a letter to The Times in 1948 advocating threatening Russia with atomic weapons and "military means if Russia continues to refuse all compromise".
