Thank you very much for your letter. It is sad, from my point of view, that you are going back to Spain, as I should very much enjoy seeing you. Tell Gamel she would be doing me a serious kindness by writing to me.

All goes well with me, and if there is no war I have good prospects of a happy old age. I too have been writing an autobiography — not to be published till I am dead. I should think yours would be delightful reading. My love to Gamel.
