Dear Gerald
Your letter gave me enormous pleasure and encouragement. I had grave doubts as to whether I had in any degree achieved what I set out to do, and your praise has diminished them. I very much enjoyed doing the book, and it seems that some of my enjoyment has contributed itself to me.a I shall be very glad to hear from you again when you have read more of it.
Yes, I wish we could spend some time together and renew the talks we used to have. Perhaps it will be possible next summer.
I hope Gamel is better. Please give her my love. Peter sends love to both.
Yours gratefully
B.R.
I found your notes and comments very interesting.
