BR TO IRINA STICKLAND, [DEC. 1950]
BRACERS 57222. ALS. McMaster
Proofread by K. Blackwell

My dear Irina

Thank you most warmly for your gifts. Nicholas and Stefan have made a lovely castle, with which I am much impressed — and your unicorn is a most cheering beast — I am ashamed that I have done nothing — I haven’t got a single Xmas present for anybody because I have had to work day and night to catch up with arrears incurred during my travels.

On Thursday 28th, when I hope you will come about 3, I have, unfortunately, to go to London for dinner. If you would like to come next day instead, I could give you dinner as well as tea — but if you can’t, we will stick to Thursday. Sorry you are having such a dreary Xmas. Let us hope New Year’s Eve will be better! Love.

B.R.
