Dear Irina

It is very nice getting letters from you, and I should answer more promptly if I were not so busy addressing the B.B.C., the medical profession, Generals and Admirals, etc. etc. My housing problem is settled; after the middle of January I shall be at

41 Queen’s Road, Richmond, Surrey,

in a house I shall share with my son John and his family — very easily accessible from Essex!

I like “Cakelbread the Bunlucky” — a charming character!

Derek is tiresome. Are you willing to divorce him if he provides evidence?

Next summer I go to Australia to lecture. I don’t think I shall enjoy it.

I have made a deadly enemy of the Rector of Ockham by alluding to him as the Vicar. I hope he won’t meet Derek.

It will be very nice if you come to Essex and we can meet sometimes.

Yrs ever
B
