BR would very much like to see her, but there are risks to both of them. BR is willing to run the risks if Irina thinks they are worth running.

Dear Irina
Thank you very much for your letter and for the lovely poem, which I like exceedingly. It would be a great joy to see you — I don’t quite know whether you think of coming here, or of my coming to Ruislip, or of meeting in London. I think it is only fair to warn you that there are risks, whichever we do — risks to you as well as me. But if you think them worth running, I am willing. I think a talk on the telephone would be a good plan. Could you ring me up any day except Thursday? Cambridge 3441, Extension 9. I want to know all about you, and your possible plans.
Peter is in a flat in London, where I visit her occasionally.
Give my love to the twins.
Yours ever
B.R.
