Dear Dr. Eisler,
Thank you for your letter1 and for returning the book.
I note what you say about Mommsen and will look into it.2
With regard to the possibility of your addressing a Society here, I have not yet found any opening. It is possible I may do so later; if so I will let you know.
Just before receiving your letter I sent you a number of things, and I think the typescript you mention was among them. I hope so.
Thank you for your kind words about my book.
Yours very sincerely,
<signed> Bertrand Russell.

I note what you say about Mommsen and will look into it. Eisler told Russell he had “grievously wronged” Theodor Mommsen in his History “by coupling him as a Prussian nationalist with Trietsche”. Russell did not alter the passage, which is on p. 693 of the 1961 edition.
