Dear Mr. Gordon,

Thank you for your letter of February 16th. I am afraid I cannot undertake to do the sort of article you ask for, because I wish to concentrate on writing my autobiography. I feel that, as I am 76, if I do not get on with it, I may become dependent upon the spiritualists for its completion! Moreover, I have already written several things very much of the sort you suggest. I hope, however, that you will get a better response from other people.
