I have received from you a letter in which you kindly promise to credit me with the $16 postage on proofs, for which I thank you. You also mention that if I make the index myself it will cause delay, which I should much regret. I therefore enclose proof of the English index, which you can use, merely changing the numbers of the pages. In that way it will be unnecessary to wait till I have paged proofs.
