Dear Kate
Thank you for your letter of Feb. 20. All you say about your thesis interests me — I think you will find that sort of writing grow on you, particularly when you no longer have to think of pleasing dons.
With regard to my coming to see you: I have lectures at Chicago ending March 22, and one at Smith Coll. Northampton Mass on March 27. I can therefore be at Cambridge Friday 24th to early Monday 27th. That is the only time I can come, so I hope you can fit it in somehow. You could get a good deal of work done, as we needn’t meet till tea-time each day. I very much wish to have the chance of seeing you.
What a nice letter you wrote to Conrad! It gave him enormous joy.
John wrote about his trust, but I haven’t answered yet. It is very generous of him, but I think unnecessary.
I am frantically busy, which means I am earning good money. I had $228.64 from England from your Trust; I am keeping it as you had $300 some time ago. But if you get hard up I can let you have another $100 if needed —
Goodbye with much love.
Yr aff
Diddy
